Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. We plan to offer water taxi transportation during the White Marlin Open. This is one of the busiest periods of the Ocean City summer season, and availability may be limited. Advance requests are strongly recommended.
Special-event routes, pickup locations, operating hours, and fares may differ from standard water taxi service. Confirmed guests will receive specific instructions from our crew.
Our water taxi service typically operates until shortly after sunset. When you request your ride, please tell us whether you need one-way transportation or a return pickup. If you request a round trip, your captain will confirm the approximate return time and provide any necessary pickup instructions.
Operating times may vary based on the season, weather, daylight, vessel availability, and previously scheduled trips.
Yes. Guests may bring beverages aboard the water taxi. Please do not bring glass bottles or glass containers. All beverages should be in cans, plastic containers, or other non-glass packaging. Guests must drink responsibly. The captain reserves the right to refuse boarding or end a trip when passenger behavior creates a safety concern.
Yes. Ocean City Water Taxi is currently operating by advance request only. Complete the request form on our website with your date, pickup location, destination, number of passengers, and preferred timing. A member of our crew will contact you after reviewing the request.
Submitting a form does not automatically confirm your ride. Your reservation is confirmed only after you receive direct confirmation from our crew.
Our United States Coast Guard-inspected vessel is certified to carry up to 11 passengers. The final passenger count may depend on the nature of the trip, passenger needs, gear, and safe operating conditions.
For groups larger than 11, we recommend exploring a private charter through Seacrets Cruises.
Yes. Every trip is operated by a captain who holds the appropriate United States Coast Guard credential. Our captains are responsible for determining safe routes, suitable docking locations, weather limitations, passenger conduct requirements, and whether a requested trip can be completed safely.
No. Smoking and vaping are not permitted aboard the water taxi. This policy applies throughout the entire trip and while guests are boarding or disembarking.
Unfortunately, the design of our vessel and the variety of docks we serve do not allow us to advertise the water taxi as wheelchair accessible.
Boarding may involve steps, uneven docks, changing tides, and movement between the dock and vessel. Guests with mobility limitations should contact us before submitting a request so our crew can explain the boarding process and determine whether safe accommodations may be possible.
Possibly. We can arrange pickup from many private docks when the property owner has granted permission and the dock is safe and suitable for the vessel. Approval depends on factors such as water depth, tide, dock height, condition, approach, surrounding obstructions, and weather. The captain makes the final decision.
Pickup may be available from participating waterfront hotels with suitable docking facilities. Please provide the name of your hotel when submitting your request. Our crew will confirm whether pickup is authorized and operationally possible.
Yes. Children are welcome on family and transportation trips. A parent or responsible adult must supervise children at all times. Please include the ages of any young children in your request so the crew can prepare the appropriate safety equipment.
Only trained service animals should be presumed eligible to board. Guests traveling with a service animal should provide advance notice because vessel space, boarding conditions, and dock access must be evaluated.
Trips may be delayed, modified, rescheduled, or canceled due to thunderstorms, high winds, poor visibility, unsafe water conditions, or other circumstances beyond our control. The captain has final authority over all weather and safety decisions.
Guests may request to connect their music when the vessel’s audio equipment is available. Music must remain at a reasonable level and may be limited during docking, communications, safety announcements, or travel through noise-sensitive areas.
Yes. Because of the nature of our advance-request service, many trips can be arranged privately for your group. Tell us whether you are requesting direct transportation or a longer private experience, and our crew will provide the appropriate options and pricing.
